UNIT HISTORY

Bismillahirrahmanirraheem.

Nathwathul Ulama Arabic College – Ladies’ Unit (History in Brief) The Nathwathul Ulama Council established Nathwadul Ulama Arabic College in 1956 at Muthur Grand Mosque with the providing religious education to male students. In the same year (1956) another unit of Nathwadul Ulama Arabic College, “Nathwadul Ulama Arabic College Ladies’ aim of Unit” established at a house in Knox Road, Muthur, with the aim of providing religious education for female too. Both divisions were maintained under the “Nathwathul Ulama Executive Council”. However, the Council specially authorized the Treasurer of the Nathwadul Ulama Executive Council to oversee the Ladies’ Unit.

Accordingly, the then treasurer of the Executive Council, Ash-Sheikh V.M.Faleel Alim and following his death, the General Secretary of the Executive Council Ash-Sheikh. AM.Mahroof (Nathwi) were the in-charge of this Unit. Following his death, the Ladies’ Unit was somehow transmitted to a separate administration unknowingly. After that, the then treasurer, Ash-Sheikh. M.M.Careem (Nathwi) has repeatedly spoken to the Executive Council, saying, “this Ladies’ Unit is a property of Nathwathul Ulama Arabic College and it should be merged with the College”, and took efforts to recover it but, it has not been fulfilled.

The late Ash-Sheikh VM. Faleel Alim, who guarded the Nathwathul Ulama Arabic College until his death, was on the verge of his death and said the president of the college, Ash-Sheikh.M.M.Careem (Nathwi) “Keep an eye on this college and its teachers and students”. Replying to this he said “Hazrath, I will take care of it, you do not have to worry”. Whenever he reminds of that saying. The transmission of the Ladies’ Unit was a great annoyance to his mind. Therefore, with the aim of bridging this gap somehow, a great effort was made to rebuild the defunct the Ladies’ Unit. As a result of the tireless efforts of the President of the College, Ash-Sheik.M.M.Careem (Nathvi), he bought his wife’s land in Muthur – Alimchenai and made the first waqf for Nathwadul Ulama Arabic College – Ladies’unit. This was followed in 2016 by the construction of a two-story classroom building for the students

The opening ceremony of a new building and the start of a new class for the curriculum. By the grace of Almighty Allah, 29 students, who qualified to study for the Advanced Level by writing the GCE Ordinary Level Examination in 2016, were admitted for the first class on 02.05.2017.
